Let me tell you about Bond

9 Jun

There’s an interesting serialized story going on over at Ectoplasmosis. At first I wasn’t into it but I’ve found it’s grown on me and now, I find myself actively looking forward to new chapters. So I’ll share it with all of you.

Chapter 1: Helen Keller

Several years ago, despite nearly a decade of consistently failing to apply myself in school, I applied to – and was accepted at – the University of Oregon. This came as something of a shock to both myself and my family, but I was in no position to question it, and my family was likely in no mood to not be rid of me for a while. Dutifully, I packed my meager bags and made for Eugene, where the campus is located. A friend from high school was already attending the university, so I decided to forego the dormitory experience and instead live with him. This is entirely unimportant to this story. What is important to the story, is the manner in which I was living. To lift a phrase from Douglas Adams: “This story begins with a house.”

You can find the other chapters here.

You know, this is a really interesting read. Mostly because most of us have had contact, or currently are in contact with, someone like this guy. The author brings out the seething dislike of this Bond fellow in every one who reads his work. I happily await the next installment in this fun little side-step of fun.

There’s something about the writing that drew me in as well. There’s a humor in it that keeps me reading.
