On Tour: An Interlude

I probably won’t have time to write again until we get a break around Labor Day, but before I pass out for the night I wanted to stop and say thank you, once again, to all the people who have sought me out at the premieres to comment on my writing. It means the world to me, even if I can’t stop and chat for as long as I’d like.

I know this tour isn’t about me or my writing. And I hope to be the star one day but given that I’m a part of this, I can’t tell you how gratifying, how humbling, it is to meet some of you who have read what I’ve put on this site over the years. It hasn’t always been easy to put something so personal out there to be judged by strangers and fortunately, most of you have been kind. That you come back day to day and week to week has been what’s kept me doing it for so long.

So thank you. It’s made this tour more than worth the stress and lack of sleep to be able to meet a few of you. Even if it’s only for a moment.

    Absolutely, Ben. Your writing has done a lot for me. I was the guy first in line to get his picture taken at College Park and said hey, you were definitely one of the people I wanted to make sure I met while I was there.

    I’m not sure exactly what your writing is to me, but it made a serious impression. Your thoughts on life, more specifically the way it’s supposed to be and the way it is, helped me change course in what I was doing. I won’t lay my decision at your feet, but your writing was part of the catalyst. I have a deep appreciation for your writing, and I hope you continue. It’s worth the read.

    I enjoy your writing along with several other people. Keep at it, and for god sakes, write/post more damn fiction! (Hard to type in sarcasm >.I enjoy your writing along with several other people. From what I’ve read (All of it on your site) its great stuff.
